چکیده

Abstract. Land use and cover have been significantly changed all around the world during last decade. In particular, Grain for Green (GG) program has resulted in significant changes regional land cover, especially China. change (LULCC) may lead to climate. this study, we take Yangtze River basin as a case study analyze impacts of LULCC reforestation on summer rainfall amounts extremes based Weather Research Forecasting model. Firstly, two observed scenarios (1990 2010) were chosen investigate Secondly, hypothetical (i.e., 20 % 50 cropland forest) taken control year 2010 test sensitivity (amounts extremes) reforestation. The results showed that average extreme daily decreased between 1990 due LULCC. Reforestation could increase amount extremes, effects more pronounced populated areas than over whole basin. Moreover, influenced by proportion. addition, increased less conversely, with transform proportion forest from %. By analyzing water vapor mixing ratio, upward moisture flux, 10 m wind, it is suggested result might be caused horizontal transportation processes moisture. Although comprehensive assessment was conducted, further studies are needed uncertainty better.

Modeling Land-use and Land-cover Change

Models are used in a variety of fields, including land change science, to better understand the dynamics of systems, to develop hypotheses that can be tested empirically, and to make predictions and/or evaluate scenarios for use in assessment activities. Modeling is an important component of each of the three foci outlined in the science plan of the Land-use and -cover change (LUCC) project (Tu...

Water quality in the upper Han River basin, China: the impacts of land use/land cover in riparian buffer zone.

Vegetated riparian zones adjacent to rivers and streams, can greatly mitigate nutrients, sediment from surface through deposition, absorption and denitrification, yet, human activities primarily land use practices have dramatically reduced the capacity. In this study, 42 sampling sites were selected in the riverine network throughout the upper Han River basin (approximately 95,200 km(2)) of Chi...

Land cover land use mapping and change detection analysis using geographic information system and remote sensing

Land cover/land use categories are relevant components in land management. Understanding how land cover/land use change over time is necessary to assess the consequences of humans and natural stressors on the earth’s environment and resources. The aim of the study was to map and monitor the spatial and temporal change in land cover/land use for the periods of 1977, 1991 and 2016 and to predict ...

Weakening of Indian Summer Monsoon Rainfall due to Changes in Land Use Land Cover

Weakening of Indian summer monsoon rainfall (ISMR) is traditionally linked with large-scale perturbations and circulations. However, the impacts of local changes in land use and land cover (LULC) on ISMR have yet to be explored. Here, we analyzed this topic using the regional Weather Research and Forecasting model with European Center for Medium range Weather Forecast (ECMWF) reanalysis data fo...
